DAF INTERNATIONAL PROJECT – OPPORTUNITIES

new season is right around the corner and in the 12th year of activity, we are happy to announce a new initiative, for the first time Daf project invites as guest artists former students, now young artists, who grew up within the professional project. For us it is certainly a doubly important result to have artists in progress with us after years, now immersed in the study and experimentation of their expressive code”

Our first guest Freelance Artists are:
Lela Di Costanzo from 27 to 31 July
Clara Cozzolino from 10 to 14 August

 

Lela Di Costanzo

She moved to Rome to start her professional training with D.A.F Dance Arts Faculty in Rome (2013) joining “Spellbound Junior Ensemble” under the artistic leadership of Mauro Astolfi from 2015 till 2017. During those years she had the opportunity to study and perform with various artists including a choreographic cooperation named “IF” with Lesley Telford in Brussels 2015. After the graduation she moved to Amsterdam starting her freelance career working in various projects including a choreographic cooperation dancing with Clara Cozzolino in “ What do you mean?” for the Vondelpark Openluchttheater, Amsterdam 2018.
Dancer for the world premiere of “ BALLROOM” by Shahar Binyamini and for “Deca Dance” by Ohad Naharin rehearsing with the dancers of the Batsheva Dance Company for the Gaga Project Festspielhaus St.Polten, in Austria 2019. Choreographer for “31/20 Dance Collective” premiering her first work “First” at CREAtheatre in Amsterdam 2019. She was invited from the organization of the Henny Jurriens Studio to represent them for their 25th anniversary which took place at Dutch National Opera&Ballet. In January 2020 she started a collaboration with Ate9 dANCE cOMPANY directed by Danielle Agami, in Los Angeles CA and started a dance project with Nadine Bommer in Amsterdam for the “ Nadine Bommer Dance Company”. In between of those projects Lela continues independently to develop herself as a dancer, creator and teacher taking classes and workshops around the world.

Clara Cozzolino

In 2014 she moved to Rome to start her professional training at DAF Dance Arts Faculty where she danced in creations by Mauro Astolfi, Noa and Rina Wertheim, Alessandra Chirulli, Lukas Timulak, Danielle Agami, Beatrice Bodini, Francesca Frassinelli, Joeri Alexander Dubbe. In 2017 after graduating, she moved to Amsterdam (NL) and immediately started training with “Club Guy and Roni” in Groningen thanks to the courtesy of Guy Weizmann and Roni Haver. She worked as a freelancer with Lela di Costanzo, selected with their work “What do you mean?” for the Vondelpark Openlluchtteathre festival. During that year She danced in creations by Maurice Causey and Alan Yadegarian. She kept improving herself traveling and taking numerous workshops deepening the style of Ohad Naharin, Hofesh Shechter and many more. In 2019, she worked at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten in Austria for the “Gaga Project” performing Ohad Naharin’s “Deca Dance”. Still in 2019, She danced at the International Theatre in Amsterdam for its 125 years celebration. Assisting Lela Di Costanzo and dancing in her creation work “First” for 31/20 Dance Collective, she danced at CREAtheatre in Amsterdam. In 2020 starts the collaboration with Ate9 dANCE cOMPANY, (Los Angeles, CA) directed by Danielle Agami.
