D.A.F - Dance Arts Faculty, located in Rome, is not your typical “education centre for dance and performing arts”, but a unique centre in Italy for the education, introduction and professional development in the dance world. Made with the aim to insert itself at a European level, D.A.F. is an integrated and multifunctional centre for the training and improvement in the cultural area of performance and scenic arts in general.
D.A.F. starts and is conceived as an innovative and experimental centre, opened to different cultural affluences, in which dance is meant as a transversal expressive form, which integrates itself with other subjects, such as music, theatre and audiovisual arts. Starting from the will to create a space, which differs from the educational concepts adopted so far in the national territory, D.A.F becomes a cultural habitat opened to comparison and collaboration with artistic languages, which are different but at the same time similar.

D.A.F. shapes professionals of the sector, stimulates the cultural interests of young people, offering particular didactical courses and important events from a cultural point of view, also for those, who want to approach dance and the other subjects from an amateur point of view.
D.A.F is an avant-garde structure, a cultural open space, which boasts a teaching staff with a great international experience, collaboration with choreographers, companies and important people coming from all over the world. With the aim of offering students a real concrete opportunity of closeness with professionalism, D.A.F. hosts many choreographic residences and it’s also the “official home” of the Italian contemporary dance company: the Spellbound Dance Company of Mauro Astolfi.
