D.A.F. IS UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF THE UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI ROMA TRE, COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR FINE ART, MUSIC, AND PERFORMING ARTS (DAMS)

AFFILIATIONS D.A.F. – Dance Arts Faculty – International Dance and Performing Arts Project is working on radical change in the current national educational landscape in the fields of dance and the scenic arts. Thanks to joint efforts and decades of experience in the sector, D.A.F. is acting as a catalyst in Italy for the most important realities operating in the educational sector and international choreography. Today, you are also invited to become an integral part of the D.A.F. world by contributing on the front lines of promotion and development of contemporary dance.
D.A.F. reserves the right to grant the stated advantages to Dance Schools that apply by looking at the specific details of their activities (number of pupils, territorial presence, years of activity) in order to prepare an academic and educational project for the school with the objective of creating a solid network of cooperation for the promotion of Dance and Performing Arts culture in Italy and abroad. D.A.F. Dance Arts Faculty has constructed the program of its activities as an educational standard with particular attention to the large scale needs of dancers to fill the gaps that exist in a more traditional educational path to get progressively closer to a concept of training that is more European in character, focusing on psychological training as well as students’ physical training, and to progressively arrive at the professional level in terms of proposed content, as well as through the results of relationships established with professionals throughout the three year specialization in the program.
D.A.F., in the creation and management of its internal and external activities, embraces a network-style system, including diverse consultants and professionals that bring their know how for a more systemic perspective of the educational-performance process respecting the qualitative standards these people have always followed both as individuals and in team supported projects.
The decades of experience in every element of the staff has allowed the Center to become a point of reference in a short time, a recognizable meeting place for those, at any level, who work in the dance sector adhering to the same logic. By following this direction the experience of every artist and director has truly been allowed, in the three short years since the inauguration, to join with a larger reality after a background lacking long term solutions. Acting on this dynamic, D.A.F. intends to embrace other realities, anything from small schools to larger more structured centers that show the same commitment in their approach to education in a common language and vision. D.A.F. management has therefore taken as its mission not only the implementation of internal proposals, but also looking for and discovering the many realities in the national territory that work to put forward quality programs and that deserve support, help, and gratification in order to shorten the distance between them and the Center. Therefore, a series of projects and initiatives will see them as protagonists to create through a natural channel an enlarged togetherness, information exchange, and the creation of opportunities to favor those who over time would like to allow their pupils to benefit from D.A.F.’s didactic programs.
Schools that are interested must send a brief presentation (max 2 typewritten pages) containing information on, the number of pupils, the city they come from, years of operation, the presence of professional level courses, the age group divisions in the courses, and more generally all that might be useful during the evaluation process, via e-mail to info@danceartsfaculty.it. The D.A.F. commission will then evaluate the most suited affiliation proposal.
